Environmental Awareness - At Digital Engraving we practice what we believe; reduce - reuse - recycle. A key focus of our business operation is to reduce spoilage. When a job is setup,
we use the minimal amount of paper and materials to get the job going and we do it right the first time. Spoiling a job is a terrible waste of resources. Our spoilage and makeover rate is extremely low. We recycle all of our scrap; paper, copper, aluminum, film and inks. All the engraving inks are water based and very environmentally friendly with no V.O.C.’s.

We use soy based inks in Letterpress and Lithography. The papers that we use are mostly FSC and recycled, supporting mills that have a lower environmental impact. We are distributors for Crane’s Paper's tree free papers. Our water effluent is monitored closely by the San Francisco Office of Water Quality to insure that we are compliant and non polluting. When we renovated the building we occupy, which is a San Francisco Historical Landmark, we used no V.O.C. paints, sustainably grown cork and natural marmoleum for our flooring and tried to blend with the least intrusion in occupying our beautiful original brick building.
